| Marion (Hardy) has contributed these photos of the WYC float for the
Battle of Britain Carnival parade. Marion writes... "WYC
won
the
afternoon
1st prize
of £5.00
- and the Harry Palmer Trophy in the evening parade (I had forgotten that
there were two parades even!) As for the participants - I was the little Dutch girl (Mother spent hours making crepe paper flowers!), Faith Hawes I think was the Spanish Senorita - I think Christine Richmond is the Geisha Girl and my cousin Monica was the Hawaiian Hula - Gerry (Chapple) is just on the right of the photo disguised as a Swiss Skier - and I have a feeling that may be Alan Cole who is sitting under the umbrella - but don't know what he was meant to be." |
