WIMBORNE YOUNG COMMUNICANTS RAFA Carnival float 1959

PH133
Marion (Hardy) has contributed these photos of the WYC float for the Battle of Britain Carnival parade. Marion writes... "WYC won the afternoon 1st prize of £5.00 - and the Harry Palmer Trophy in the evening parade (I had forgotten that there were two parades even!)
As for the participants - I was the little Dutch girl (Mother spent hours making crepe paper flowers!), Faith Hawes I think was the Spanish Senorita - I think Christine Richmond is the Geisha Girl and my cousin Monica was the Hawaiian Hula - Gerry (Chapple) is just on the right of the photo disguised as a Swiss Skier - and I have a feeling that may be Alan Cole who is sitting under the umbrella - but don't know what he was meant to be."

On to next photo of the same float but taken from a different angle showing other members in their costumes. CLICK FOR NEXT PIC >>
