| CHURCH HOUSE Scene of some of our greatest triumphs and fun | ||
| Gerry Chapple spent a cold windy half an hour on the pavement drawing this sketch especially for this site. Thanks Gerry it brings back so many memories. | ||

| He tells us the wrought iron gates across the front porch, which were broken when we were there in the early 50s - are still broken.!! Gerry also says they have built an extension on the right hand side. It looks to me as if the railings are gone from that side too. There's a banner across the front so something was going on around the time Gerry was there sketching. He says the stage has gone too. | ||
| My (Willy) abiding memory is of the excitement of clattering down the stone staircase to get into my next costume, - and the card table with the dummy's head on it which we rigged up outside in the street with a microphone to entertain the punters waiting to go into our jumble sale. | ||
| Have you any memories of Church House? Please send me them on to this site. | ||
| UPDATE MARCH 2004 Marion
(Hardy) ex Wimborne Young Communicants writes "The Church House was synonymous
with socials, jumble sales, meetings,
dances etc - with the Library downstairs at the front and the little kitchen
at the back - and of course the Church Functions!" |
