The Coronation Parade. 2nd June 1953
My (Willy) diary for this day reads... "Up early in the morning and borrowed a radio from Breach (Shop). Nearly all the club was up the Stores to hear the Coronation Service all morning. Prepared "Nellie" all afternoon and took her down to the Rec. Spud and Ted came to our house for tea. Carnival in evening. We got second, girls - third. Drank and talked up the Stores until 12.30am".

"Britannia"

The girls' float for the Coronation Carnival

Both Richard and Dave sent me copies of this photo.

Can you help with names please?

Can anyone put names to these girls? It will also help with the search engine databank.

Pauline (Lambourne) says that's her, dressed as an Australian and is number eight. Number five is Stella (Charman).
