The single concert was held in two halves and in two halls (WI and Liberal) The performers changed halls and walked between them during the interval. I (Willy) was at the Women's Institute Hall and Rich was at the Liberal Hall.

My diary reads..."Show lasted three hours and 20 mins. Both halls were packed. I was on curtains and lights. Billy Burden (comedian) was the hit of the evening."

I think Gabby by this time was in the army as I can remember him on leave telling us that he, along with many other soldiers, had been deployed to help with the flood defences in East Anglia.
