Some thoughts from Dave (Ellis) written June 2003
My abiding memory is of how well organised and disciplined the Group was. In this day and age is seems remarkable that a group of youngsters were prepared to organise themselves and think of giving something back to the community.
The sound I remember from the old clubroom was of Danny Kay's record "Manic Depressive Pictures presents..." is that the correct title? Another moment was when a group of members were talking late one night at the corner of School Lane and West Street. A policeman came along and enquired what we were doing, then suggested it was about time we were home. Picture that these days!
Thinking back, what a pool of talent there was at the group- Acting; artistic; comedy; musical (accordian, cornet, piano, recorder, singing, violin) plus organizational and administrative skills.
Above all else I remember the happy hours we all shared together and the times we met in each other's homes. I don't know if the years have dulled the senses but I cannot ever recall any trouble.
