I guess I must be an unusual person in show business in that I wrote the comedy material but always played the straight man(or almost straight) giving the comedy to my partner. (viz The Nitwits Crazy Gang)

I doubt if such a certificate still exists anywhere, except perhaps in the missing scrapbook, but any person in a WYG show who was on the receiving end of a custard pie or were doused in water or other liquid. received a certificate showing they were members of "The Grand Order of Nitwits". (Margaret Hoare certainly deserved hers after the two performances of 'The Beauty Treatment' in "Wots-a-doin?")

The Nitwits Crazy Gang first appeared in "Fancy Free" in January 1951.
The last appearance of the Nitwits was at the WYG tenth anniversary party held in the Liberal Club.
