| Mrs V. Webster. Alan Hollick relates that
the County Youth Department (or whatever they were called in those days)
insisted that, although we
ran the Group ourselves, there should be a "nominal" adult available
for us to consult, and for that adult to keep an eye on the Group. That
person
was
Mrs.
Valerie Webster from Hayes Lane, She was our chairman for the first year
or so. Pam Flory remembers her well. Alan (Hollick) remembers her as a
"bottle blonde,
middle
aged,
but
very
young
at heart"
Me (Willy) can't remember her at all. Anyway this is how our Webster's
Dictionary
became known
as
the "Mrs. Webster's Dictionary". |
