EDITORIAL

The Group is row stirring in several directions and seems due for a period of intense activity. The sports slde of the Group is coming more into focus with the arrangement of hockey and football matches, which have followed up challenges previously received for tennis and table tennis, swimming, cycling, with the occasional cricket and rounders matches, even possibly a Boat Race,
This month should see the winding up of the Winter Session and the preparation for the summer activities, including the traditional Group outing to foreign parts on Whit-Monday and much later on the August Bank Holiday celebrations and the carnival.

In addition the month will see money-raising projects to aid the Building fund, among those suggested are a Dance at Pamphill S.M. School, a Social and a fete. It is aimed to raise £20 in eight weeks.

Lastly may I say how pleased I am to see new handwriting at each edition and how disappointed that members do not submit original comment on group meetings.

Also in this edition is a report on a talk given to members about the origins of Surnames. The speaker (not named) was introduced by Gerald Chapple.
