“0PEN EVENING”
On Friday 23rd February the Group Societies held an "Open Evening" at Church House. Although not so well attended as was hoped there were a fair number present. It was disappointing to notice the number of members there who were without their parents. Unfortunately Mr. T.G.S. Garnham who was to have given a talk to the Carpentry Club was indisposed and was unable to attend.
For those present there was a most enjoyable evening. The Music Society took over at the commencement and instrumental solos by Richard, Pam and Gabby were enjoyed by all. The Photographic and Film Society then presented an Old Tyme Film Show. Films included those of Walt Disney, Laurel and Hardy and Charlie Chaplin. Alan's projector had only been returned from the repairer the day before, and after past experience we had a reserve projector standing by.
Refreshments, most welcome, were then served, and a collection taken realized 15/-. Mrs. Flory and Pam took care of the refreshments.

The evening ended by a general singsong, and we did persuade Brian that he could still sing "Down in the Glen".
Owing to the success of this Open Evening it has now been decided to hold one monthly throughout the year.
