PAGE 2 Among our motley crew (were) the Chairman as King Farouk, the Vice Chairman as a Chelsea Pensioner, Secretary as a ghost, Treasurer as Mad Hatter, the P.R.O. as a Musical Fantasy, the Quartermaster and Editor-Roundabout as Schoolmarm and Schoolmaster respectively, the Storeman as a delegate from Northern Russia and his middle-aged lady, Alfred J. Portsmouth, Secretary of the Dancing Club turned up in a very realistic costume as Laurence of Arabia, Mr. A. Stanley Hollick, Chairman of the Photographic and Film Society was a "Down and Out", Mr John C. Smith was a soldier of the American Cavalry, Mr. John Flory a sailor, and Mr. Peter B. Trinkle in the uniform of the S.L.D.V. The programme consisted of games and dancing. Old Time Dancing being especially popular. The Musical Parcel provided much merriment when Mr Raymond Applin paid his forfeit by being a greengrocer dealing with a fussy customer, Mrs. Hollick. A miming game when an episode(?) was passed though four different persons Mr. A Stanley Hollick, Mr. Norman G. Trinkle, Mr. J.C.Smith and Mr K.J.Bartlett bore slight resemblence to the original. The company descended to supper at 9pm. The buffet was kindly supervised by Mrs. Flory and Mrs Hoare. Further dancing and games were enjoyed in the last half of the party and the party concluded at 11 p.m. with an "Auld Lang Zyne" (sic) The party was jointly M.C.'d by the Nitwits, Mr. Michael G. Habgood, Chairman of the Group and Mr. A Stanley Hollick, who was also responsible for the musical reproduction. We are especially grateful to Mr. W.G.Breach for the loan of records....
