DOCUMENTARY OF WIMBORNE?
A project of the Photographic and Film Society that was shelved in summer, 1950, may see light in 1951. The proposal is to make a 15- minute documentary film of Wimborne, with the co-operation of Local Authorities and organizations. The Film would be taken on a 9.5-mm. cine-camera and a record made as a commentary.
A provisional scenario was drawn up and it was proposed to run round the clock starting with the first train into Wimborne and finishing with the Telephone Exchange at Midnight. The film would include visits to all firms, works and shops and would give the people of Wimborne an insight into some things that they do not know goes on in Wimborne.
This project will cost somewhere in the region of £20, and the only way that this can be undertaken is to have all funds ready before Filming. If funds are forthcoming we shall take a 3- day programme of filming during the summer holidays.

We appeal to all local organizations and works to co-operate and contact the secretary of the Film Society. Promises of financial support if the film is undertaken will be welcomed by the treasurer of the film society

It never happened. What a shame, for it would have been a wondeful historical record. - Willy
