CLUBROOM PROGRESS
Levelling and clearing has commenced on Tuesday evenings and Saturday all day. Johnny Richmond
is in charge. On Wednesdays at 45 Churchill Road work is carried out on the corrugated iron which is scrapped and painted. Nothing else can be tackled until the plans are passed.
During the last, fortnight of May we earned £33 for the Building Fund.
On Saturday 2nd June we held a Social in the Church House. The evening was organised by Angela Millard. The M.C. was Richard Curtis. Music was supplied from radio-grams in the charge of Ian Lowe and Barry Young. Refreshments were under the charge of Jay Yard and Angela Millard. Among those taking part were members of the Minster Young Communicants and Verwood Youth group who we met for the first time.

Wimborne Chamber of Trade Exhibition
The Exhibition was held in the grammar School Playground and we had a stand in company with the Traders. It was held for four days from May 23rd. members sold the newly printed Town Guides (What were they? - Willy) in which the Group is mentioned and sold draw tickets. The Group stand was only obtained three days before the opening, one of which was Whit monday and our outing. We must therefore thank Barry Young for constructing at short notice an electronically controlled conveyor belt that carried donations into a celluloid barometer that rose from a model Nissan hut. This, together with discount on sale of Guides and tickets, benefited our funds by £9. We are very grateful to a Member of the Chamber of trade who gave us a handsome donation of £5.

Also on the stand were copies of "Roundabout" , Scrapbook, and an illuminated drawing of the proposed Clubroom which was surrounded by a border of photographs covering the group activities.
