A darts and table tennis match with the Young Congregationalists on April 24th. The group won the Table Tennis by 12 games to 6
The group is once again in business 'collecting jam jars. They are being stored at Sandra's home. Anyone who can help please contact Sandra Swann.
UNRAVEL THIS ONE - The Club intends to sell any wool it can get hold of; a contact has been found and there is a good market for it - HELP US TO PULL THE WOOL OVER YOUR EYES
Angela Millard is organising a social to be held in early June. It will be in Church House - 7 to 11.30 and admission 1/6. Plans are being made for some novelties.
The Group has undertaken to cut the grass in the Minster churchyard. Already one night has been spent with clippers, shears and motor-mower. nobody can say we let the grass grow under our feet.
On Thursday May 17th the group are collecting for the National Playing Fields Association at the Tivoli Cinema, where a film on their work is being shown.

The use of the Notice Board is being revived. With so many activities in different places at other than normal times have made this a necessity. The old "Forms 8" are once again being used for the notice board at the Albion Hotel and a diary of activities is being kept.

We hope members will use the notice board in the Town centre more because it will be a long journey to the club-room in the Autumn.(What was a "Form 8"? - Willy)


TENNIS The group has hired a grass tennis court at Redcotts Recreation ground on Friday evenings. The charge is sixpence to those who play per evening. If less than 4/- is taken, the balance is to be collected from those who have played. This is to ensure we don't lose money as we have done in previous years. We hope Members will bring along any others who just want a game of tennis.
NEW FLAG Pat Brady reports from Bristol that the group flag is progressing well. We shall be pleased to see Pat's embroidery on the flagpole at the new Clubroom

CHAMBER OF TRADE EXHIBITION
During the week? May - 27th May the Group have arranged to be in attendance, at the Chamber of Trade Exhibition to sell programmes and Guides. The Group will also have a table at the Exhibition in order to show the public the many diverse activities of the organization. Centrepiece will be an illuminated section of our proposed new premises. The "Scrapbook", our most important record will also be shown together with various photographs and "Roundabout” Our inventiveness will be in evidence with a working model.


SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING 28th April.
The general meeting held on 28th April was for the purpose of electing a Chairman, Vice-chairman and one committee member. The Chairman and Vice-chair had been held by Mike Foot and Clive Dennett on a temporary basis. The third vacancy was caused by Pat Keeping's resignation from the committee owing to other commitments. The election was supervised by Joint Founder Michael Habgood (Gabby) The new committee is Chairman- Brian Willis (Willy); Vice-Chairman - Angela Millard; Secretary- Ann Dufall; Treasurer - Colin Campbell. (replacing Gerry Chappell, who has resigned the position of treasurer, and sits as a committee member). Other members of the committee are Gillian Yard, Sandra Swann and John Richmond. Following the election the meeeting decided future programmes and reviewed projects on hand.
