I can remember a running gag with Gabby carrying a Christmas tree through the audience . As the show continued so every time Gabby appeared the tree had "grown" another couple of feet, until by the end of the performance the thing was huge.- Willy

Alan Hollick reminds me this show was held in the WI Hall behind Rodway's Garage. He says the show was mainly extracts from the intended pantomime which he wrote - "Mother Hubbard". Alan (who was also the treasurer at the time) says Christmas Pudding was a financial disaster as there were so few in the audience. We lost pounds. "It was the only show we did in the WI Hall and that probably also contributed to its failure" Click to read more about Alan Hollick's memories of the various panto scripts. But remember to close the extra window to return here afterwards

NOW IT CAN BE TOLD Alan also says that a well known lady shopkeeper who ran a Beauticians in East Street, Wimborne lent us the money to keep us out of debt. She insisted no-one should ever know about this arrangement and Alan paid her back a little each month. She appeared in the finance sheets as "XYZ"

In the Gabby Archive is a typewritten sheet giving the running order for this show It also includes the following names, Lynette, Larry, John, Richard, Willie, Kitty, Violet, Gabby, Alan, Pableau, A.S.H. and M.G.H. Here's the note at the bottom of that list. I love the last instruction - Willy.
