Oh no we haven't!! - Willy

Thanks everyone for your help with compiling this WYG History web site. Please keep sending me material. Click the button below to see how to contact me. By the way this is such a huge site now (Well over two-thousand files) that I cannot keep track of all the links so if you come across a link that doesn't work please let me know.

You may be interested to know I sent a copy of this "History" book to the Dorset Record Office in Dorchester who then asked to buy two more copies for the Wimborne Library. So you Wimborne folk keep an eye out for it, they should be there by now.

Poem

Remember as the years roll by,
And time leads us our different ways ,
These are the times we shall dream about,
And we'll call them the GOOD OLD DAYS.

21st Birthday greetings to Alan Hollick.
Poem taken from "Roundabout" July 51.

I am sending the following letter out to all the old WYG members with whom I still am in contact. Please spread the word. Thanks

July 4, 2006 .
Hi Everyone,

Well at long last the "History of the WYG" book is ready. It contains 208 pages (printed on one side) and is quite a heavy tome. This written history also includes 20 cuttings, 140 photos (plus the Reunion ones), 13 Show programmes, 100 pages from "Roundabouts" and also several posters, script extracts, forms etc.

There are contributions from - Richard Curtis, Dave Ellis, Allan Hollick, Stella (aka Kendall) Charman, Michael Bartlett, Mary Collins, Pam Flory, Angela Millard, Norman Trinkle, Ann Dufall and her husband Mike Hand, Gerry Chapple, Pauline Lambourne, Marion Hardy, Tony Habgood,
Susan Horton, Tina Davis, The late Ray Applin's daughter, Peter (Spud) Taylor, Kitty (aka Kathy) McKee, and Robin House.

The book is A4 size landscape.

The book is in black and white, except for the last few pages (the Reunion photos) which are in colour. I will be printing these "Histories" on my own home laser printer.

The total cost per copy will be £17 (seventeen pounds)

Unfortunately I have to charge that amount to cover the costs which I estimate for each edition will break down as follows:- Paper (100gm) = £3; Laser toner = £4. Coloured ink £1; Comb binding = £3; Packaging = 60p; and Postage (to UK destinations) = £4.63p. (I said it was a heavy book).

So what about the unaccounted-for 77p? Well I am putting that towards the cost of donating three copies - one to Beryl Habgood; one to Alan Hollick, and one to the Dorset Record Office.

If you would like one of the "Histories" then please let me know and send the cheque (made out to "Causeway Art Studios") to the above address.

Regards

Brian Willis (Willy) brian.willis@tesco.net
